So the price tag has been set at £425 for the 60gb version (a total rip off for us seeing as the US and Canadian ones are about £300).

Only place I see taking proper pre-orders is PowerplayDirect.

Maybe we can post here when others start to take them.

Play have it for £549.99 with 3 games..

I will definitely wait until the prices drop, while I'm waiting, will hopefully pick up a xbox 360 (prices should drop when ps3 comes out, hopefully)

There is a shop in the Metrocentre, Gateshead, that has been selling the PS3 for a while now, obviously imported. They are charging £699 for it, but you can take it away today.

Sony have said (in North America is where I read it) it will be hard to cut prices due to the cost of the kit inside it. But thats £125 cheaper over there - gives them more scope to cut the price before Christmas this year here once they've maximised the sales from the "must have" people.

i think the price will drop very quick as the sales in the states have been very poor compared to what was expected

No tax.

Very impressed so far. Only got Ridge Racer 7 at the minute. Also playing Gran Turismo HD and Resistance fall of man downloads. Both very good. Online rankings add that bit extra, bragging rights etc. Ranked between 28 and 86 in the world, for different cars, on the same track. :cool:Well I was last night they change all the time!

The six-axis controller is so light. With it being wirless I expected it to be quite heavy but it is lighter than the PS2 controller. Very easy menus just like the PSP. It took a while to get it online due to the defult channel number on the router being too low, it was set at 1 not 11!

No moans so far.
