That looks like a really good reason to buy one

I've very little faith in Epic delivering an outstanding game. Over the last 5 years their efforts have been near dismal - basically nothing but flogging the Unreal franchise to [near] extinction. Maybe, just maybe, this will be quite good - but not putting it on the PC (marketing/cost led decision) will mean I'll never play it anyways. Graphics do not make a great game

There's one very good reason to consider a 360... in built Media Center extender which would fit nicely into the setup (I already have a MCE system in the house but it's not near the main TV).

Not releasing a PC version is lunacy.

A PC game can easily be ported to the 360 without a huge amount of work. Surely, then, the opposite is true? The core of the code should be the same for both PC and XBOX360 so the costs of releasing both versions shouldn't be too prohibitive. OK, PC Versions need to have different graphics versions available, but is it such a big thing?

Re: The reason I finally bought an XBOX 360!

Its not always a bad thing to keep a game to just ONE platform.
This means buyers HAVE to buy the console. I have bought all consoles bar the 360 just to play specific games... ie, Mario Kart on the N64 etc

I don't think I follow your logic at all! You mean to tell me you think it's good for companies to lock a game title/franchise to a particular console so that you have to but one of every console release :?

Epic 'deserve' a dismal sales flop for their decision but I suspect it will do rather well and provide yet more [financial] encouragement for console led titles

Re: The reason I finally bought an XBOX 360!

I agree that is stupid that something are not released multi-format...sometimes it's money issues. Broken Sword 3 flopped for example, so 4 is only out on the PC.
It would be plain weird to play super mario on a 360 though

Re: The reason I finally bought an XBOX 360!

That is my point Blunty. Imagine if every Mario, Zelda game etc could be played on a PS2. Would anybody buy the Gamecube... no. The same for the Wii. If the core (roughly the same price) 360 played all Wii games would anybody choose the Wii? Probably not.

Sonic kept Sega going. Mario keeps Nintendo going. Halo2 wasnt seen on PC for ages.. MS made sure you had to buy an Xbox.

Of course there is logic.
