Got my 40GB PS3 earlier this week. It's primary purpose is for Blu-Ray films. I bought it as a bundle deal with Grand Turismo Prologue.
So, I thought it would be nice to just have a couple of games to show off the system. Games you can just turn on and play, look great, but not interested in long drawn out adventures etc.
Something like a Beat-em-up and perhaps a First person shooter?
Any suggestions welcome.

COD 4 (although I've not got it) is meant to be one of, if not, the best game ever.

Uncharted looks good, F1 is good to for a quick turn on and race online.

I have COD4, but haven't even opened it yet because I already have it on Xbox360.

So I may be tempted to part with it for the right price

If it's pick up and play games you want, you won't go far wrong with good old Virtua Fighter 5 or there's Fifa 08, Burnout Paradise, Motorstorm and Fight Night 3.

None of them are too long unless you want them to be

I have since found out that its not COD4 but COD3

Thanks for all the suggestions. Some of those I looked at in Game second hand, but did'nt know anything about them.
Will be spending soon :)

It is the PS3 one.

Don't go to the High Street (well specialist stores) for games (even second hand ones) as they are a rip off. £35+ for most of the decent games upto £42 I've seen for FIFA.

Online is the place to go or occasionally the supermarkets - I saw NFS Pro Street in Asda for £25 last week.
