I've been looking at that too. Not Full HD but it seems to have a better picture quality than other Full HD sets at the price. I take it you've been very impressed with it? What made you decide on it?

I wanted to buy the best available - last time, i compromised and bought an LG 32" LCD. We only had it for 2 years before upgrading to the Pioneer.

The Pioneer is rightly regarded as the best flat panel available at any price. All reviews rated this as a superb bit of kit - yes, it's not technically 1080p, but it will accept and process a 1080p picture and display it in better quality than a native 1080p set.

It truly is a masterpiece.

Now I'm getting confused again. Still I've a couple of months to sort my head out.

To be honest, when you talk about the Pioneer, Panny and Samsung sets at the top end of the market, you can't really go wrong.

Yes, the Pioneer is the best of the bunch - but when I bought mine it was £500 MORE than the Panny.

So between the 3, you can't really make a wrong decision. Just follow your heart!

I know which one I should get (Pioneer) but my head can't get around the fact that it's not 1080p even though I know it's a much better picture than the 1080p sets I can afford.

I can't understand or accept that a 1080i screen is better than a 1080p screen just yet, even though all the evidence, reviews & feedback say otherwise. I'll nip and have a look at them both soon. I've got a couple of months of therapy to convince me otherwise before I get the Pioneer...

Having problems with my PS3. I turned it on today, and the red light flashes and goes yellow for a second, and then it turns back to red and just won't turn on. Nothing comes up on the TV screen. Any ideas?

There are a couple of simple things other people who have had that problem have tried.

Firstly, just try turning it on and off several times (obvious, and you've probably tried it, but it might work ) - sometimes it seems like it's just in a sulk and needs drawn out of it.

Then switch off at the back, unplug it from the wall and leave it a while, then plug it back in, switch it on at the back and try again. Also, try holding the power switch on the front, switch off at the back, wait 15 seconds (never letting go of the front power button) and switch back on at the back and try turning it on.

Thirdly, try it in a different socket (preferably a socket on its own, rather than an extension gang with other electronics.) - heard of a couple of people who had a similar-sounding problem and it seemed to be sorted by changing where it was plugged in (presumably because it couldn't draw enough power).

If none of these work, phone Sony ASAP, and if you don't already have one, invest in a surge protector, in case a power surge has fried the electronics - you don't want the same thing happening to your TV or a replacement PS3!

I've not been to look at either of them yet and I'm still undecided. I'll no doubt end up with something completely different in the end. Let us know what you think when you get it diederik, when you get it of course.

I could send you and Wilko out for a fight to the death and whoever wins will convince me to buy that TV ...in fact, I'll have the losers as they obviously won't be needing it anymore and it'll save me a few bob in the process!
