I had heard that the 360 Elite was going to have a HD-DVD, rather than having to buy a external drive.
But have not heard this mentioned. I know it has a HDMI connector as standard but no mention of the drive.
Anyone know if it has or not?

There's no HD-DVD drive intergrated in the new console, you still have to buy the external one. A bit of a silly decision on Microsofts part.

Ah well, silly decision right enough. I would have bought it if it had a HD-DVD drive.
Guess my plans will stick with the Wii then...

There are suggestions MS will introduce a new machine with a HD DVD drive included (especially after there alledged involvement in the Paramount HD DVD exclusivity deal).

I can't see it my self, how long before games studios want to release games on HD DVD to complete with the room on a Blu-ray in the PS3, the GTA makers already voiced concerns over this (Not everyone is online to download content remember).

If this were to happen you would have a large portion of Xboxs not able to play the newer games.
