Out of Memory

My old boy phoned to say he's getting a Microsoft internet Explorer error message when using yahoo email. It reads: 'Out of memory at line 653'
Probably nothing, but he's a bit of double durex when it comes to computers so I said I'd ask what it meant.

Cheers

Sounds to me as though you have a memory leak - and Yahoo mail is crashing because of it.

Does a restart fix it? If so, does it reappear after a few days?

If it has happened only once, then I would forget about it until it happens again. As long as you have made sure that firewall and AV protection are up to date, you should be fine.

Yep, all of the above.

Unless, however, it is the Yahoo mail application that is causing the memory leak, in which case the browser won't matter.

But I am more inclined to believe that it is IE that is hogging the memory, because it is a greedy little bugger. Firefox and opera are a lot more considerate.
