Hi can someone look at this one and tell me if this is would be what I need for long play recording and multi region as I am useless with understanding all the stats etc. Thanks so much.

It plays all the different speeds you're after. It's not multi region but this is a supposed hack for it

1. Open the tray.
2. Press number keys 008600 and region code (0,1,2,3,4,5,6) followed by SELECT.

but.... i read a post where it didn't work for someone who tried it, so multi-region still unknown for this player.

Sadly you're not going to get a recorder anywhere near as good as the Oppo for playback unless you spend alot of money. Maybe that'll be Oppo's next venture? ;)

Thanks reverand, I think I'm going to go for this one http://www.3wisemonkeys.co.uk/prodde...fe247a803615f2 it seems to have everything I want and my old dvd player was yamada and never had a problem with it until it just died so I am tempted to go with this one.
