Creative ZEN Vision:M 30GB MP3 / Video - anybody got one?
Been after a 30gb player for a while now and with my b'day coming up Im gonna ask for one of these, it seems to get really good reviews on amazon etc and as I don't want an Ipod (mainly to avoid i-tunes) this Creative seems the best choice?
Anybody on here got one? Pro's/Con's
Can you store films on it?
Any feedback/advice is much appreciated. mg

Not got a Vision but have a Zen Microphoto and that is much better than an Ipod in my opinion so that is bound to be even better so I would get it.

Vision M is a great unit. Good sound and great video playback. Pretty sure you can store films on it although haven't tried as playback is about 4 hours maximum on video and use it for music myself.
Not so easy to edit things (or I haven't discovered how). By that I mean most of my bands are stored under 'The'. And you can't seem to edit more than one track at a time. My Zen micro had a much more user friendly facility. That said, I'm sure things work better if you sync your player to the PC, but I prefer to drag and drop.
Go for it. If you don't want an Ipod, although that 80gig one is tempting. Go for the 60G creative. Always need more storage

Cheers guys, just what I wanted to hear.
I had thought about the 60gb zen vision for an extra £40/£50 but I think the 30gb is enough for me as it is really only for music and some music videos.

Re: Creative ZEN Vision:M 30GB MP3 / Video - anybody got one?
Have one and love it.
Watch US TV shows on my way to work - it's like I don't have a commute anymore!
Most torrent sites seem to provide shows and films in a compatible format, but a few you'll need to convert (but nothing compared to the ipod where you'll have to convert all). And there's plenty of room on the 30gb for movies.
Screen quality is great. Apparently superior to ipod.
It remembers where you were in a film too even if you stop, listen to music, then return. I don't know if that's usual, but I find that really useful.
It's true that it doesn't do drag and drop easily, but I find the software fine to use. You can select tons of things at once and let it get on with transferring them.
In the rare instance it's crashed, I've not lost any files either (just needs a quick restart with a pin shoved in the tiny hole and you're back to where you left it).
And it's pretty.
The only downside I found was the lack of a mains charger (and they seem really expensive to buy). You have to get in the habit of connecting it to the PC for charging, before you go to bed!

wow thanks for that, and welcome to the fourm. (very helpful first post).
I really want one of these now, plus I read on another site that you can use a psp charger to charge the creative so I could use the hubbie's charger from his psp rather than the pc. I saw some user's piccys on amazon.com of the screen and buttons lit up and I agree it does look really pretty and crystal clear too.

Re: Creative ZEN Vision:M 30GB MP3 / Video - anybody got one?
My friend had one of these for chrimbo and is in love with it. Think he got a dock and a few other bits with it too and has managed to connect it to his TV and watch movies from it on the TV screen. Says it's obviously not DVD quality, but was definitely watchable and great if you're traveling somewhere. Personally i think it looks really cool. I have an ipod, but would be just as happy with one of these :) PS. Could you let me know where you manage to find it cheapest too if you go ahead getting one as i have another friend who's interested in getting one

Re: Creative ZEN Vision:M 30GB MP3 / Video - anybody got one?
Unfortunately have to replace my Samsung YP-Z5 that some little ****** robbed on me and swaying between going the whole way and replacing with with something that will support video as well...(this thread on the Creative Zen 30GB has me thinking that way!!) or else something cheap and cheerful with about 2GB in memory.
Just wondering if anyone has seen any special offers lately for any half decent 2gb player along the lines of the Samsung or else is there anything else along the lines of the Creative Zen 30GB to compare it to (Would rather not go with an I-Pod as I believe there's compatability issues as am running vista on the PC) but nothing else I've heard of is jumping out at me!
As for the Creative best price I can find is http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=332149
Just wondering is this about right or is there cheaper out there??
