I need a multi-regional DVD player
Looking for a cheap, and I emphasize the word 'cheap' multi-regional DVD player, my Yamaha has packed up. There's one at Amazon for £19.00, but some dodgy reviews saying that it might not work with R1 DVDs very well. Anybody who can find anything around the same mark?

Re: I need a multi-regional DVD player
That's what I meant, sorry, Yamada, until the last few months, it's been fantastic, it's now utter tosh and won't play anything, very noisy, discs jump - that was before it stopped working altogether.

Thanks, but that really wasn't that useful for me, no prices come up, and a lot of the results aren't available to buy.

Re: I need a multi-regional DVD player
There's an excellent Samsung dvd player for £55ish on amazon, probably too much money though.
The cheapest dvd player I'd buy is the Samsung DVD-HD860 above or the toshiba SD-360 (around £60).
I'm looking for a cheap player that plays DivX too for my bro. There's a good thread HERE! Silent Bob and LeighG187 were very happy with their players.

Re: I need a multi-regional DVD player
Am getting quite desperate for one now, so went ahead and ordered the Philips DVP3020 for £35, more than I wanted to spend, but has got good reviews compared to a lot of others i've read. I'm sure it'll do.

Tracey, the next model up DVP3040 with DivX playback is £30.99 on amazon HERE!
Both are multi-region capable and you'll have to put in the hack whichever one you buy.

Re: I need a multi-regional DVD player
Nooooo..
I was just about to say.. dont get a Philips.
I have a Philips , and the firmware is crap. The lip-sync drives me insane (it comes and goes, but is worse on non R2). It is also a slow loader etc.
My gf got a different Philips off me (was £20 from Smiths) and that suffers from juddering really badly on any R1 or R3 that I put in it.
I am in the process of replacing mine , and giving her my old Pioneer surround system.

Re: I need a multi-regional DVD player
I cancelled the Phillips earlier and ordered the Sanyo instead. Probably just as crap.
