DIV X Player Required

Our daughters DVD player has died and we've said we'll get her a new one.

I want it to be multiregion with DIVX and available on the High Street and under say £60.

Any recommendations?

I'd recommend the Toshiba SD-360E, it has a lot of features (HDMI upscaler, progressive, divx...) but I can't find many high street sellers  ,

High street:
John Lewis
Richer Sounds (R2)
Richer Sounds (multi)
Superfi

Online:
Play
Pricerunner
Froogle

Multi region hack
Open the tray.
Type 2,4,0,3,9,6,0,9
Nothing will appear on screen until the final digit is entered when a 9 will appear at the top of the screen.
Close the tray and voila!

I always recommend the £25-30 cheapys with a USB slot it makes them very versatile.

Exactly - already got one - but need to find another one from the High Street. It's a Christmas present that a relative will be buying.

Re: DIV X Player Required

I know it's slighty off topic but noticed the other day that Pixmania are doing a DVD player with DivX, usb/card reader inputs and HDMI output for less than £50 which seems very tempting.

I wonder if my trusty old Sony player will ever break so that I can replace it??

s.v.p are doing a divx with usb interface that allows you to rip music from mp3 discs cracking price too less than £40 not sure about multi region but it's a umax and they do seem to multi region crack

and yes i also know they aint a high street store but then most of the best buys are not found on the high street

Nice one - but is it multiregion?

We've swopped presents around so now we'll be buying it instead. Off to check out the Pixmania one.
