Sony Receiver & Speakers - opinions?

Looking at buying http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/2632...hdmi-ht-d.html

It has
6.1
2 x HDMI input
1 x HDMI output
2 x Component input
1 x Component output
2 x optical in
1 x coaxial in

950W

Looks ideal for feeding all my stuff through it (tho I will need to convert 1 x optical into a coaxial so that I can get 3 feeds in without using my manual switcher.

£243 delivered.

What you guys think?

Its a compromise from splashing out over £500 like I planned to do

Re: Sony Receiver & Speakers - opinions?

I've had a few Sony Amps over the years & I've been pleased with them.

The specs on the machine look OK, my only suggestion to you would be to try & demo it first some where & then if your still happy then go for it.

This amp must be quite a new machine as there don't seem to be any reviews around at the moment, it might be worth asking the question on the AV Forums where you might get a larger audience & some one who may already have this unit.

Re: Sony Receiver & Speakers - opinions?

Already looked via AVF.. hence why I then asked here.
Its from Pixmania. They sell it in mainland europe, and australia. But not in UK.
I think the receiver is the StRK880, and that is £250 on its own at Richer Sounds

So I think its a great deal. Already kinda decided to buy it, but thought I would ask my friendly family forum too
