Re: Projector??

Questions to ask.

Do you intend to buy an amp and speakers for the sound? Or an all in 1 system? Or did you expect to get a multimedia Projector (PJ) that produced sound itself?
What is your budget?
How much room do you have to play with? Different PJs have different "throws" so you may not get as big an image as you hoped.
Does your DVD player have component or HDMI output etc? Or is it just scart?
Did you plan to get an HD projector to future proof it and give better image quality?
Are you aware of how dark your room will need to be to make a decent picture?

Plenty more questions when I think a bit harder

Re: Projector??

WOW

Didnt realise there was so much to consider!

is it cheaper to buy an all in or get the speakers seperatly?
my dvd is fairly new and failry expensive so im guessing it has a whole host of connections!
the propsed site is in my cellar so it will be quite dark!
dont really want to go above £500

Re: Projector??

i brought a brand new epsom projector for £300 , didnt want anything special, but its far better than i expected , can project at least 12 foot picture from about 2 to 2.5 metres , and is bright , i can happily watch a film during the day in the living room , then the dvd is just connected via my amp for the sound , i just wanted a big picture and this was more than i wanted

Re: Projector??

You might want to look at the projector section of avforums.

You can use a wall to display but a screen will be better.

If you buy used check the number of hours on the bulb and the cost of a replacement bulb.

You can also use it to play games
