What TV to buy??
Hi Everyone, am looking for some advise on which tv to purchase for my entertainment room.
I currently have a Toshiba Regza 42X3030D which I use to watch sky SD, HD-DVDs, Blu-Rays
So I am looking for another tv to play the X-Box 360, PS3 and Wii on. Budget is around £700-£800 and was looking for a 42"
What I was thinking of maybe doing was using the Tosh I already have for the gaming and maybe getting a new tv for the watching side, as I have heard plasmas are better for watching sd and hd content and lcds are better for gaming???.
So what would people recommend I do? Any help would be appreciated
A couple of people have recommended the Panny PX80 (plasma) and Sony KDL-40V3000,the Samsung LE-40A559 and the Toshiba 42XV503 (all lcds)
Thanks in advance

Howdy Keyser. We bought the Panny TH42PX80 a couple of weeks back and we're very happy with it. I was contemplating a Full HD set but after a bit of research and demoing (is that a word?) a few we didn't feel we'd gain much more.
We got ours from John Lewis who price matched sound & vision at £650 and they included a 5 yr guarantee so it was good news all round . So I'd definitely recommend the Panny but I'd take a Blu-ray to town with you and try a few tv's out to see for yourself

Yeah, I'd second what Homer has said.
For the budget you've set yourself, go for the Panny any day.

£609.99 @ Sound & Vision
Could try a JL price match and if they don't match I'm sure they'll get damn close including a 5yr guarantee.

Was just doing a search and saw that deal. So what do you need to do, print off the deal from sound & Vision and take it into JL and ask if they can price match it? or if they could do me a deal with the warrenty etc..I don't mind paying £650 if I get a 5 year warrenty

Just phone up your local JL's an ask them to pricematch it. Each stores different, mine sent me a letter after 5 days confirming the deal by which time the price had dropped even further. So after another call I got it for £655 with free delivery.

Panasonics are great! I got the 42PZ80 (Full HD one) a few weeks ago - and I love it. Quality is awesome, especially with HD DVD/Blu-Ray.
