Mozilla are aiming for the record books today, looking for the record of the most downloads in a single day!

Firefox 3 is released for general download at 6pm today.

It will help that there isn't a record to beat yet, so even if only one person does the download it could still, theoretically, be classed as the new World Record

Yeah, there is that

However, they are saying that 5 million would be good. And I'm sure 5 million would indeed be good, considering that part of their revenue comes from bundled software such as Google Toolbar, and that's a lot of new signups...............

Surely they anticipated that? 5.8 million downloads though, which is an incredible success for a single day.
