Woodgate signs for Boro

Never saw that coming.

I would have put my house on him signing for Man Utd or Chelsea or Liverpool, and then maybe going back to Boro when he was 33 or something to finish his career there.

But to sign for a no-hope small town club at his age, with his talent - I am just flabbergasted.

And they say there is no loyalty in football. Woody has just proved there is still some loyalty. Oh, and the £50k a week will help also.

I was really surprised he didn't try and make something out of his Real Madrid career, I mean he was injured for most of his time there so thought he may try and fight for his place and prove his quality but he's done and 'Owen'.

As much as Beckham annoys me he has a lot more strength of character than either of these and has knuckled down to get back in the Madrid team after being written off by Capello.

I thought Woody would have waited to see who was interested during the summer - I know O'Neill was, but I guess to play for your home town club you grew up supporting means something above anything else. Shame they're shit. And it's situated in smogville.

Exactly what I thought.

Lets face it, Boro isn't the nicest place to live in the country by a long shot - and that's from someone who used to work there - the place is a stinking dump. And Boro are not the greatest football team.

Woody is such a talented player - he should have gone to one of the big 4 (any one of them would have chewed off their arms to get him) and then maybe finished his career at Boro (like Pallister did). At least that way he would get some winners medals, which he'll never get at the smoggies.
