There's no consistency and thats the problem. Anyone who saw the GP2 race would have seen half the field straightlining the very same chicane in similar conditions and not one penalty was handed out by the same stewards.

McClarens appeal to overturn the Belgian GP penalty has been turned down as inadmissable. i.e. it can't be challenged. The result of Massa winning stands.

Bit of a kop out for me as it should have been at least discussed to clear the air as to what was legal and what wasn't with Lewis' overtaking manouvre.

If Massa now wins the title I hope, he does by more than the 6 point swing this controvesy has caused.

I don't watch F1, but it was an TalkSport while I was driving to Wales last night, and I have to say I was hooked. What a dramatic ending!

I have to say he was very, very lucky and almost threw it away. "Match Fixing" anyone?

I couldn't sit still during the final lap. I was actually on the edge of my seat. And now I've recovered from the disappointment I must hunt down and kill Timo Glock

I must agree - my heart SANK two laps to go. I REALLY thought he had let it slip through his fingers, again.

I was probably as shocked as the Massa camp at the final outcome.

As much as I like Massa, and admire his talent, I think that the Driver's Championship went the right way.
If Massa had clinched it, I think it would have been tarnished by virtue of the fact that the Stewards had a (questionable) hand in their relative points totals.

Looking forward to next season, if the regulation changes achieve their aims, it should be a corker.

There are probably five drivers, who, with the correct machinery, could challenge for the title. Fingers crossed!

I think the drivers title did end up in the hands of the right person this season. I'm pleased for Massa that he got the consolation prize of winning his home Grand Prix.

What I'm really looking forward to next year is being able to watch every single race all the way through without half a dozen three minute commercial breaks spoiling it. I couldn't care less about the pre-race build up or post race analysis of the glaringly obvious as I haven't watched any/much of that for the last 12 years. So, roll on BBC coverage

P.S. I really, really hope they keep the old Fleetwood Mac 'The Chain' theme tune as it always was and always will be absolutely perfect for this sport

Neither can I. However, with their ongoing drive to attract younger viewers if they put a newcomer in charge then he/she might think it 'appropriate' to bring in a new, more up-to-date piece of music. Hopefully, they will stick with tradition on this one I just can't wait to hear those opening notes once more
