Put Robinson up front for England at least he can score

Re: The 'miscellaneous' footy thread
Yet more crowd trouble again last night at the spuds match,is it a case of the police over reacting ?

Re: The 'miscellaneous' footy thread
From what I heard, it was a slightly different situation to the Man Utd trouble.
Reports suggest that the Man Utd trouble was caused by heavy handed tactics from the italian police, with little punishment handed out to the italian fans who started the trouble. Whereas, in contrast, last nights trouble was mainly instigated by the Spurs fans and the police had little choice but to go in heavy handed.
But having said that, the police were probably out of order also.
I haven't seen the TV pictures, I only know what I heard on TalkSport.

Re: The 'miscellaneous' footy thread
A lot of people have been making out the Man U fans to be saints...although the police brutality was unneeded and wrong, the fact remains that the united fans charged to the perspex wall things to start some s**t.
On the subject of the results...I think both english teams will go through.

Yeah, maybe. Like I said, I haven't seen the footage, just what was discussed on the radio.

Inevitably, Rome's Prefect of Police maintains that disorders were caused by English supporters in the first place. I didn't watch the match, but for what I've seen on TV, Italian cops were a bit too, as you said, heavy-handed.
Take also into account that some Man U fans had wandered in the city all morning drinking beer.
