Disappointing. Hatton out-thought, out-fought, hindered early on by the ref with some awful favouritism throughout. A weight step up too far. Totally battered at the end before ref stopped it. Fair play to Mayweather though, 9 years as champ in 5 weight classes and not a mark on him. Ricky - do not go for a remath or v De La Hoya either.

Yep, the ref didn't help Hatton at all. Very unfair as Hatton needed to get in there from the off to have a chance but wasn't allowed.I doubt this'll be the end of Hatton and as much as we don't want it I'm sure they'll be a re-match.

Just watched the fight being replayed on bbc2. The referee did seem to break them up too much, so hatton could not fight his game plan while the referee let mayweather raising his elbow into hatton throat with no problem. Fighting one of the best pound for pound boxer is an uphill task in it self but when the referee was more in mayweather favor made the task near impossible.

But hatton did not help himself when he got frustrated not being able to fight like he wanted too, forgot any game plan he had and charged in like a madbull into mayweather. After that he had no real chance to win the fight at all unless he got a knockout.

The knockout which lead to mayweather victory again had more to do with hatton charging head first than mayweather boxing skill. The true result should have been a point decision win for mayweather than a kockout.

It would have been nice to see this fight with a more neutral referee, hatton would not be certain to win the match but it would have been a lot more tighter match than it turn out to be.
