Mclaren sacked as England Manager
Finally, McMuppet is gone.
That makes me feel a whole lot better about last nights shocking game, at least we got a positive out of it.
Quote from the Guardian online:
Steve McClaren's dismally lacklustre 16-month tenure as the England manager came to an end today when he was sacked following an emergency FA board meeting at Soho Square. The decision to terminate his contract, taken by the FA's 12-man board, came as no surprise following last night's 3-2 defeat at home to Croatia - a result that confirmed England's failure to qualify for a major tournament for the first time since 1994.
McClaren leaves his post as statistically the worst England manager of all time, having lost five of his 18 matches in charge. Yet, with more than two years left of his contract, he will be entitled to £2.5m in compensation.

That £2.5m really grates doesn't it.
Worst thing is Barwick is tasked with finding the next man.
He's the guy that gave Sven a 5 year contract that cost the FA £25m and then appointed Second Choice Steve.

So who do you think then?
Jose Mourinho and Martin O'Neill appear to be the bookies choice. I bet Villa fans aren't happy about O'Neill being linked.

Dunno if O'Neill is best man for the job - he certainly hasn't got the experience required. Then again neither has Mourinho (who I'd favour). We need some one in his class, Lippi is available too.
We need someone who has won stuff at the top club level or internationally.
The whole structure needs looking at so that the U21s play the same basic system as the first team and there us hunger and desire to play for the country. I'd get rid of half the current lot as they don't possess these attributes or just aren't good enough, and work with a core of players for the next 8 years or so.
Problem is there's only something like 100 English players in the Prem and probably only about 40 deemed young enough and good enough. That's the biggest problem of all that it's the same old players getting picked regardless of form or ability.

I think it's funny how they always sack the manager, if it was up to me I'd sack the whole team and start from scratch after last nights performance.

Yeah, true, but Mclaren is a complete muppet.
There's not a lot you can do about the overpaid passionless numpties who actually kick the ball, but you can do something about the muppet who should be motivating and organising them.

Fine but how exactly is he supposed to motivate them if they cant even psych themselves up to play for their country? Its all well and good blaming the manager but why not the players too. You had a team out there last night with a lot of "star" players that havent performed at all in the qualifiers. Stevie "G" lol, Fat Frank, Joe Step over Cole, Peter Crouch, All supposedly world stars (ok maybe not crouch) but not one of them performed last night when they had to. People were calling for McLaren to have some guts and drop Robinson and BEckham, but i honestly believe you would have gone through last night if they had both played. I'm welsh so i know what its like to not qualify, but we've got an excuse that we dont have players playing regularly in the Premier League. Last night we played away to Germany with a few of our U21 players and still go a draw, OK germany had already qualified but for us that was a great result.

Steve McClaren is going to the England Christmas party dressed as a pumpkin, he's hoping someone can turn him into a coach!
