Why does the thread title now show up in the address bar? I access the site at work and if the thread title has anything rude etc i could get blocked or even worse fired for using the site. what was wrong with just the way it used to be?

i see your point. i never noticed that had changed. but i can see the potential problems this can cause if people do access the site from either a works area or even a public area library, internet cafe etc..

I think this was discussed before the change over..

In the adult room, the title could be seen and if there were rude words in there people could see it etc..so people shouldn't be using rude words in title threads anymore

this is fair enough, but if like myself you work for a company that audits the webpages you visit, even clicking on the link to the adult themed thread would flag up because of the words adult themed! if posts are made about dvds or bargains that have words in them which could flag up on the audit i wouldnt be able to click on them and as such i may be finding it pointless to continue to visit the site if i can no longer access everything.

Sorry you feel that way grilli, but the bigger picture is that keyword rich urls will help the site grow through more seach engine traffic. The decision wasn't taken lightly.
