Out of 4000 registered users, only a handful didn't get emails when resetting their password.

This suggests to me that the problem caused by the receiver's mail provider and not the fact that the email didn't get sent by our server.

Have you checked your spam filters?

I'm registered with my work account - no problems with filters there, when I registered under another name to get in temporarily I used my Gmail account and got no emails there either. Most bizzare.
