Expired Bargains?

I have been thinking (Dangerous, I know).

Other forums tend to move out expired bargains into a sub-forum, so that they keep the main bargain forum a little more focused. Do you think this is something we should think about? For example, we would have a sub-forum of the bargain forums called "Expired Bargains" where the old bargains would go.

I'm not 100% sure whether it would be the way to go, but I quite like the clutterless fell of the bargain forums on some other sites "who shall not be named".

Re: Expired Bargains?

Not sure if you need a separate forum as the other site you allude too just puts 'Expired' in the title of the thread and removes them from the front page. That's if we're talking about the same forum

Re: Expired Bargains?

Yeah add a certain tag like [expired] or [dead] would be sufficient I think. Having too many forums/categories might not be the best for the usability of the site, and I never bothered of seeing expired deals - so I would keep it as it is :)

Yeah, I guess - would probably be better to do that.

Ideas, Ideas. It certainly helps to have experienced webmasters posting on here! Thanks Diederik.

Re: Expired Bargains?

Would it not be possible to have a 'report expired' button on the thread, then if someone finds an expired bargain they can mark it as such and the thread can either be flagged or removed from the site.

Yeah, possibly. It would need some work though.

At the same time though, at most points during the day there is a mod or administrator online to adjust something like that, if members have noticed that a deal has expired.
