Any suggestions about how we reward paople who have accumulated points for posting?

I am at a loss as to what we can use them for.

This may sound ridiculous, but here goes.

I always thought they may be handy in the classifieds for trades

Dont know if enough people trade here for it to work, as I think it would need a few people to work properly. But if someone had a trade list and I didnt have anything they wanted I could offer points which they could then use when someone else had a trade list with something they wanted.

OK, sounds good - its like our own currency then. It could work, however we would need some clear rules and values. It may only work if we have more people trading in classifieds, but its certainly a good suggestion.

yeah, does sound ridiculous :wink: :grin: Don't think that would work as really the points would still be worthless as in value terms. Say a person trades a dvd for points and then that person doesn't find anything they want he would basically be a dvd down but have some points...hope that makes sense lol

The points were good for the competitions, as if there is a really good prize only the people who contribute a lot to the site via posts and that would get the chance to win it. Whereas a normal comp anyone can enter...so with the competitions, maybe have a good prize for the whole site and have a really good prize for the others...blah blah blah lol

I liked the points for competition thing too... what was the one enter to win an LE or something, it definitly got people posting more than they would normally (and then the one for post up your dvd collection etc)

I like the idea of using the points for competitions.

Don't really think you can use them for much more as they have no monetary value, or else people will just keeping spaming threads.

As there seems to be quite a few sales in the Classifieds, it may be a good idea for people to setup there own feedback thread, I've seen this on a number other sites I use & it works quite well.

As well as the Sales, it might be worth starting a wants / trades thread, be a good way of people changing out some of there collections.

A price watch area, top 10 DVD's for some of the main sites - Up dated daily.

Just a few thoughts at the moment. :grin:

Oh yeah & put the un-happy smiley face in the main icons, so you don't have look in the more Icons box when you want to include it in a thread.
