Dvd Pacific Air Courier (Fed Ex) option

I was just wondering whether anyone had used the air courier (Fed Ex) option before, at dvd pacific.?

I am particularly interested in knowing how customs duties are collected / applied for shipments with a value of over £18.00

no ive not used the air courier option, as it just isnt worth it usually. unless the item is ridiculously cheap and you want it very fast, the cost of it is a lot.

as for customs, ive been hit before for being pennies over, and the royal mail just post a card through saying you have a fee to pay, then you have to go to sorting office and pay to get your parcel.

FedEx send you the customs bill about a month or so after your item is delivered.

That's absolutely correct. If you're worried about customs it's safer using air mail. For some reason dvdpacific writes correct value on the customs declaration when if you choose fedex. And fedex never foregets sending you the customs bill.. . Its typical: For a whole month you thought you had escaped, and suddenly the world collapsed as the bill from fedex emerged in your mail box.. I've actually had that experience, and it's not funny..

Re: Dvd Pacific Air Courier (Fed Ex) option

Thanks for all the replies - which confirm what I had suspected.
I had to use the courier option as I had a few Ebay orders to fulfill before Xmas.
Usually loaded24/7 would have these new releases in stock, but that company seems to have given up on selling Region 1 dvds - and only seems to be interested in selling 'Adult material'.
(Everything seems to have a status of 'Usually Ships within 3-5 days' - which means no-stock on hand)
Anyway, placed order with Pacific on Wednesday night (UK time). Items were shipped out on Thursday by FedEx, and arrived today (Monday).
Any other time of the year - choosing priority airmail would have achieved the same result, but I did not want to take a chance.
At least I will not have to pay the £4.00 ish Royal Mail collection Fee, and just pay the duty on the purchase price of approx £60.00, which hopefully will not be more than £12.00.
