PLAY.COM - Packaging

I've now just recieved my 3rd attempt by Play to deliver a Darth Vader Realed Bust.

1st attempt - They sent me a Bunny Boy drinks dispenser

2nd attempt - They sent the replacement just wrapped in a plastic envelope (no padding)which by the time it got to me the box inside the envolope was dented on all the corners & some how the box had a hole it I imagine prior to packing.

3rd attemp - Replacement delivered with yes you guest it just wrapped in a plastic envolope no padding & the corners of the box are dented again.

This is so frustrating with Play, I wouldn't mind but the other Busts I had from them in the past have all come packaged up in a box with padding inside.

Just going to phone Play up now & complain & ask for another replacement, I'm not happy with them.

Any one else having this problem with Play?

my Charlie Figure was sent in just a plastic bag but the box wasn't damaged at all. Maybe its more the postmen in your are that are causing the problems. But i'd still phone play and give the hell

Just spoke with Play, replacement number 3 confirmed, now have to package it up & send it back on Monday.

It's just so annoying, at this rate there likely to run out or I'll end up getting this after Christmas.

Re: PLAY.COM - Packaging

My last non dvd purchase from Play was the clone trooper bust and that came bubble wrapped and boxed in a strong cardboard box, no damage to the figures box at all

..I hope play's care with shipping isnt on the slide as they have always been good with the items Ive bought. Maybe Ive just been lucky or I have 'gentle' postmen as Ive never received anything badly damaged other than the odd knocked corner on box but thats due to the kitchen floor being concrete (my flats door goes into the kitchen so I have no doormat or carpet to cushion the fall of a parcel thru the letterbox) and not careless posties

My worst experience with a stupid postman was years ago when I used to DJ in a local club, I was on the mailing list of a few record labels for promos and the like and one day when I was out, obviously the record was too big for the letterbox, so he posted it thru the open front room window :| when I found the parcel - totally by chance as it was behind the sofa - the record was smashed in half by the fall :x

What a strange thing to do, I wouldn't even think of doing that. It would have made more sense to drop it around the neighbours.

Re: PLAY.COM - Packaging

I used play a lot before, but I got fed up by their redicilous bubble envolopes which give no protection after all. If amazon mach their price approxematley I choose them. They have speedier shipping and a card board wrapping which actually can take a hit. Buying boxes from play is like asking to have it delivered with a dent.

I'm very glad that someone is consequent and complains everytime they receive a damaged product. It's only through the force of consumers, play will change their stupid policy.

Got my chewbacca bust today in a grey plastic bag although thankfully there was no damage, they definatley seem to have stopped using boxes for statues/busts.

That's plain stupid if you ask me. Busts, statues and boxes are fragile items. Chances of them getting damaged due to poor package are much higher than with plain dvds. Nail them
