Currys

Been after a chest freezer from my local Currys but it's been out of stock so armed with my 10% discount code (thanks for that) I decided to try and order it from the website. Checked the stock availability and yippee they had it in. I then spent half an hour filling in all my details including my credit card payment details only to get to the end and be told 'Sorry this item is out of stock'. I then rang the helpline and spoke to someone at a call centre who told me they didn't have a clue when they'd have it in. She did suggest going back to my local shop but I pointed out to her that the reason I didn't get it from their in the first place was that they too were out of stock, plus I wanted to use the 10% voucher against it. She said sorry but i can't help you, goodbye.

Don't you just love good customer service.

Re: Currys

<jumps on bandwagon>

I ordered a Pioneer plasma telly on Monday (again, using the 10% voucher) and chose Saturday - today - as the delivery date. Got a call on Thursday afternoon to say that because of some problem (they couldn't/wouldn't say what) they could no longer deliver on Saturday and the earliest they can reschedule is Tuesday.

Phoned their "Customer Service". Apart from a token, insincere apology, all I got was a lot of "there's nothing we can do". Oh and when I asked to speak to someone to complain, I was told "there's no one here you can complain to" and then said I had to put the complaint in writing. I phoned Friday morning at 10am...

So, no explanation why it took over 3 days to process the order. No explanation why they couldn't deliver on Saturday and the added inconvenience of having to take Tuesday off to wait in all day for the telly to arrive.

Re: Currys

Places like these drive me mad, Curry's, Comet etc. You have to pay extortionate prices instore, to get items delivery at an inconvenient time, you wait in all day for them either to deliver at the very end of the day they are suppose to deliver it on, or it doesn't arrive at all, then you have to contact customer service who are absolutely useless and know less than you do. A new date is arranged when you have to take time off work, it finally arrives only to be not 100%, but you put up with it because you can't be bothered to got through all the hassle again, and can't go another week without a washing machine/fridge etc.
Of course, i'm just generalising. ;)
