HD and DVD Bargains

I sometimes find 101cd have the best price for back-catalogue CDs, but the couple I've ordered this year seemed to take a couple of weeks. Normally I don't mind as I'm in no hurry. However after having tried Blah! for a re-issued Talking Heads CD and given up waiting after 3 weeks, I went to 101 and cancelled the order after 5 weeks.

I'm wondering if it's just that CD causing the problem rather than the retailer (they all use the same distributer?)

It's important as 101CD have the cheapest price I can find for the Stop the Clocks - Oasis (Ltd Edition) 2 CD + DVD. This is released on the 20th November but I want to get all my Christmas shopping done as our second kid is due in mid November!

So I'd like to order from 101CD - is anyone having problems or is anyone getting good service?

There are lots of conflicting reports on 101cd.com. Some have had good service others haven't.

I've not enjoyed the best of times with them as they either never dispatch or cancel my orders, maybe it's the kind of films I pick! :wink:

For a popular up to date item like an Oasis CD, I'd have thought you'd be ok ...but it's whether you want to take the chance for a few pence. :?

Thanks. I've lurked about for quite a while but that was my 1st post.

As for saving money - it's £2. The next best is £11.99. And I've double checked it is def the Ltd. Edition version. 101CD have a different price for the "normal" CD. I'm looking to pre-order it.

OK the saving isn't massive but add it up across all the online spending that I do - particularly at this time of year......

I think I'll wait to see if there are any more responses. I'm minded to go for it. Any probs and I can always dash to a supermarket, which is bound to have it.

BTW someone should point out to Benson's World that just because an item is out of stock they should provide a better response than "your basket is empty" when trying to order that item. Either let people order pending arrival of new stock or ask them to come back later. As it is now I thought their basket wasn't working.
