Play.com new policy

I've just seen that now, if I want to place an order of any kind on play.com, I'm made to pay in euros, and no-more in pounds. What is worse is that the conversion rate applied is not the current one, so that at play.com they can speculate on European customers. :x

Having ordered at play.com for years, I may well consider this as the worst decision ever!

Try going through a UK proxy server.

The company I work for is based in Sweden, and that is where the proxy server is based. So when I go to play.com via the proxy in sweden, I only get Euros as an option, just like you.

But from my home PC, I get the option of both. So if you fool play.com into thinking you are in the UK, you will get both options.

I use JAP for those kinds of things, but it won't let me download any British proxy server. Any suggestions?
Thanks! :)

No problems here with both my home ISP and @ work (Netherlands). I can still pay in £ (which is much cheaper than their Euro prices)

Hm crap, I actually have the same problem - but it is when trying to check out. I can't order anything with GBP pricing. Need to select the (much higher priced) Euro currency.

Well another retailer I won't order from then .... A shame since i love(d) Play ...

Play.com new policy

Well, this sucks. I was just about to place some orders, and now the price has gone up by £1.55 per DVD for me. That pushes Play's prices slightly above other stores on most titles, which means that money that would've been going to Play is going someplace else.

But Play.com is making a nice sum of "extra" money with their new policy, if you multiply the price increase by the large number of Play.com customers that don't live in the UK.
