depends on the company. Most only charge on dispatch, also if you check their help section it normally says. :)

It's pretty rare that you pay for your pre-order...cdwow obviously, but things like dvdcrave you can choose if you want charging now or when it's shipped

95% charge when its released. as quite often dvd releases can be delayed, so it would be unfair to have to wait so long.

only cd-wow and the wrestling dvd site silvervision are the ones i know of that take money right away. oh and the asian sites like yesasia and dvdheaven i think, as you can pay via paypal.

What about if they put the price up after you've ordered it. Do most companies still charge you the original price.

They'll charge you the price of the item when your ordered it, although if it's reduced most sites will charge your card the reduced amount. They're not allowed to charge you any more than you've agreed to pay, so can't charge you more money if the price goes up.
