I used DVD pacific and I can tell you that the package was not marked down in price, and therefore incurred customs charges! It wasn't much over, but that didn't stop Mr Customs adding a テつ」7 excess to the cost of the DVDs.

whenever ive had a package from them, i swear DVDPacific just put $20.20 on all the packages, then again ive only ever had one package from them that was worth more than 18 quid, and i didnt get charged then although i think they did put the right price on - sorry about hat, i guess the rule is not to buy anything worth more than 18 quid from them :)

My last two parcels from DVDPacific had the correct item value on them (i.e. not marked down) - however luckily I missed customs on them.

DVDImport ALWAYS mark the item value as less than テつ」18, so are deffo customs safe. And of course MovieTyme send via a UK office, so no customs there.

They only ship from the UK if that particular dvd is in stock in their Uk office. eg. LOST they knew the demand would be huge for this item so they had it in the UK ready for immmediate dispatch.

My last boxset which was over テつ」18 came from California via Germany to avoid the customs. :)

You can email them before ordering to check if something is in stock in the UK. Craig @ Movietyme is very helpful.

Well, I must just be lucky.

Everything that I have ordered from them came from the UK office.

I've been impressed with DVDImport (so far even though I have yet to receive my first order from them) but I ordered 3 items and they were all shipped 2 days after.

Just waiting to see how long they take to arrive but it's looking good. Only slight problem is that they never emailed me about them being shipped, I only noticed it just now when I looked at my order history on their site.

Just recieved my first parcel from dvd import, very padded packaging and although the order was under テつ」18 they marked it down to $20 CAD on the outside, even though the order was $35 CAD.

So definately customs friendly.

Amazon.com - NOT Customs Friendly - Charge Delivery
Just thought i'd add a nice comment about Amazon.

Definitly NOT customs friendly (obvious to most people by now), had a テつ」27.10 charge on my Buffy boxset, mainly because it came through Parcel Force and they ripped me off with their stupid charges.

Anyway, three of the discs had fallen out of their holders and scratched, i emailed amazon asking if it was possible to just return those 3 discs as it would be cheaper and wouldnt mean another customs charge for me again when they sent replacements.

Just had an email back from them saying they will be sending another and no need to return the one i have (i know they do it for smaller priced items as ive had to do it with a few boxsets that have scratched and not worked) but never a $130 boxset.

They just keep getting better IMO, Amazon have had some bad press with the Xbox360 mess up in the UK, but their US counterpart has always been fantastic. Now the only problem is, i'll be charged another テつ」27.10 customs fees, and given the fact that i'll have 2 boxsets for the price of one, i'm not sure whether i should ask them if they reimburse those costs :)

Or, you could just sell ME the boxset for テつ」27.10, and everyone's a winner!
