This is something that's been bugging me for years.

I remember a kids TV show that I assume I would have been watching in the late seventies, possibly very early eighties. The show itself was European (I think perhaps German), and IIRC the story was narrated rather than having the voices dubbed into English. Could be wrong about that.

Anyway, it was about a lad who's dad worked on a mountain steam train. All I can remember about the plot is one bit when the kid nicks a train to show off to his Heidi-esque girly, only to get in trouble with the grown ups when they get back to the station, and a bit where the school puts on a play or something and everyone's dressed as knights and princesses etc.

I have no great love for this show or anything, I just remember it and no-one else I ask does. It's not a much-loved relic of childhood like 'Solo One' and 'Luna' are. ;)

a) grateful
b) very very surprised!
