Top Gear finally returned last night, it was great to see it back on and see Richard Hammond back on the show. The crash was sickening and he clearly didn't stand a chance so I was utterly disgusted when I read this today:
I wouldn't believe everything The Scum prints - it has a habit of merging quotes or using old quotes to make a story more sensational. It's the first I've heard of the owner "saying" things like that.
And now Jeremy Clarkson is in trouble because he said on the show that speed kills before looking over at Richard Hammond. Safety campaigners want him to apologise as the say he's making light of driving at high speed, they even suggested that some impressionable teenager might think it's okay to speed because he said this! All I can say is if after seeing that crash they think it's okay to drive like an idiot then they shouldn't be driving at all.
I managed to get tickets for the show, but was off to Colorado skiing.
Still, had a great time.
My sister etc used the 4tickets no problems, and havent been back long enough to find out whether it was any good.
To be honest I was a bit unsure about watching the accident and when I made up my mind that I would I was hardly able to keep looking at the TV anyway. If he had died then I couldn't have watched it and would have been shocked if they had even shown it but as he made such a quick and full recovery I think it was something he wanted to do.
Of course there will be those who never watched the show in their life tuning in just to see the crash which is a bit sick but I'm a big Top Gear fan so I was just glad to see him back on the show at all!
