OK, sad person that I am I'm still up so just checked in on Play for a progress report on my order....and everything is apparently en route. My only point of concern is that the player is being handled by ParcelForce and they have a habit of delivering stuff round here at 7.00am which is just totally uncivilised. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't even know there WAS a 7.00 o'clock in the morning

Refused mine from PLAY.COM, parcel force guy said that was the third HD-DVD player from PLAY that had been refused today! He was Pi***d-off! Three in the same area as me?

I went for the amazon.co.uk one @ £49.99 ( now back to £69.99 ) in case of a price drop!

LOL

When did the price drop down at Amazon ? I'm not going to be refusing mine when it turns up from Play.com as it is a great deal at £69.99 with the 7 DVDs thrown in for good measure. There may be a marginally better one along in the next few weeks I don't see it being worth the bother/hassle.

Wink

Qexit, the price went down yesterday, then back up when play sold out! lol

I tried to cancel the one at play but it was too late! They told me to just refuse delivery and they would refund me in 2-4 day. No hassle.

As for the other DVD's, £69.99 would be worth it if I wanted any of them, but I don't. Getting rid off those DVD's, now that would be a hassle!

£8 for most BLU-RAY's @ CEX, don't think I'd get much for HD DVD now.

Like the idea that amazon wil refund me if the price drops again in the next couple of weeks. I think it might, I think they are waiting a couple more weeks so they don't have to pay everyone back the difference. I decided £49.99 was the price for me!

Would have posted the £49.99 @ amazon on here, but thought with me being slow to keep up, it would have been on here already, Qexit

Fair enough. I actually do want 5 of the 7 discs on offer, so for me it's a good deal

I'm still a bit wary about getting a HD player. I don't really know what's going on with the whole HD/Blu-Ray thing. Are HD-DVD's going to still be produced in the future or what?

Hm, after dealing with some other more important matters I finally got to open up and play with my HD-EP30 this evening. I think I may well be sending it back as this one may be broken As I carefully lifted out of its box there was a loud clunk, like something significant was loose inside the case. A couple more clunks getting it out of the poly wrapper. Also, something small seems to be rolling around loose inside the case. Could be a screw or something similar. It does work, as I was able to connect it to my TV set, power it up and play a DVD (not one of the supplied HD-DVDs though, I've left those sealed up for now) without any problem...but I'm still concerned so will contact Play.com tomorrow to see about getting a replacement or a refund Not happy

Aww, what a nightmare. I dread getting something like that that's damaged. I've had my Ep30 out and tested it and all seems lovely. Very bright vibrant pictue, most impressed so far. Just desperately want my samsung LE37M87 to have a good offer on somewhere so i can afford it to go with the HD
