Gonna go on Thursday, have got the day off work to go to an ear test so we will try and get to the matinee while all the school kids are in school, plus its cheaper at the matinee.

Going on Wednesday, half term, so cheaper ticket price for before 6pm, plus Orange Wednesday. If it was my choice I would have gone today, but I have cheap friends.

All the reviews of POTC seem to suggest its not so good.
Reviews are often useless, but I dont wanna sit thru it for 3hrs

Absolute crap, don't waste your money - went to see this today and quite a few people walked out at various times and never returned - none of it makes sense, jibberish dialogue, pointless characters, not even in a fun way. There was one OK action scene at the end, but that's about it.

I disagree.

Just got back from seeing it, and I really enjoyed it. Ok, it's a little silly but that's the point.

It's a little long, but well worth going to see. Not as good as the first one, but equal to the second.

Disregard what the tabloid "critics" say - go and see it and make up your own mind.

BTW, it was a packed cinema and I didn't see a single person leave. So I guess Northern audiences are a little more forgiving than those of more southerly persuasion.

Glad that you enjoyed it, each to their own

Didn't you feel there was far too much going on, all those relationships - Jack and his father, Will and his father, Will and Elizabeth, Elizabeth and that English soldier, Davy Jones and whatever her name was etc etc? None of them had any chemistry to speak of.

I do think Depp saved the movie from the bottom of the barrel, the scene at the end with those two wenches made me chuckle, but if they'd cut out the middle hour IMHO it would have been a more enjoyable experience.

Oh, and what exactly happened to Elizabeth's father - was it explained how he died? Not much of a meaty role, so again, very little emotion when he told Elizabeth he was dead.

Re: POTC: At Worlds End

Yes, in hindsight I see what you mean.

The plot was a little messy in places - like you say, the bit about Elizabeth's father and the relationships.

I sort of "turned off" my brain and just enjoyed it as an action flick and ignored the messy plotlines.

They set it up nicely at the end for another sequel. If they do, I hope they simplify the plot and have it much more like the first film. And shorten it by at least half an hour.
