I thought id start a thread for movie endings,movies with a thought provoking end?

One film that sticks in my head is American Psycho,id be interested to know what your thoughts of the ending means?
my take is that he uses his dairy for his fantasies about killing all he victims as a way of escaping from his dreary life


Can anyone explain the ending?
Any other movies with endings that bug you?

Seriously, not seen the film but read the book, and it's either a fantasy as you say or he really does do the killings and then gives it up.

Watched this a few months back and I was thinking along the same lines as you Stuart, the way the killings are so over the top they have to be escapism fantasies in his head.

Great film, have you seen Rules of Attraction? a film about Patricks little brother, really worth a watch.

I love american psycho but I hate the end :|

I'd love to just grasp some of the hundreds of really thought provoking ends to films but I really can't access them! My memory is decent but not THAT decent.
