Once again it's a pleasure when this annual show comes around.

This years nominees are;

Chinjeolhan Geumjassi (Sympathy for Lady Vengeance)

It's a toughie but personally I think L'Enfant deserves the award.
The Beat that My Heart Skipped was decent but nothing on read my lips, I am yet to see Mr Lazarescu (but want too). I've just seen Volver and that was really good...lady vengeance, not quite as good as mr vengeance and oldboy, but still good...and of course haneke's wonderful 'cache'.

I have to admit I've only seen two of the nominees (Lady Vengeance & Volver) but after watching the clips my favourite was The Death of Mr. Lazarescu and I'm glad it won. Looks very good so I'll have to pick this up.

I've been so into asian cinema lately I've taken my eye of the European stuff I used to watch and love so I think it's time I spread my viewing out over a few more continents again.

Time to order Wages of Fear me thinks :grin:

Cheers - recorded it last night on the PVR at the same time as something else - whether its watchable is another story as the PVR has bugs which means second recordings sometimes are unwatchable. Good news its repeated though.
