Casino Royale Teaser Trailer (in French)

I could go with M having a sexchange, but if this is "Bond Begins"... Does that mean M started off as a woman (well sort of), then had a sexchange to a man, and then back to a woman again?

Continuity was never the Bond films' strong point, but if this is Bond Begins they really should have replaced Judi Dench.

No disrespect to her at all but what this does to the continuity makes my head spin!

Casino Royale Teaser Trailer (in French)

I've been trying to think that through as well. Its been rumoured that the opening might be a flashback, like Goldeneye. The press conference ("we learn how Bond gets the Aston, and how he becomes "Bond"") kind of suggest the whole film is early Bond (as does, perhaps, the end of the book).

The dilema is that the trailer dialogue suggests M (Judi) speaking to a newly recruited 007, while in Goldeneye, she was new while he was an agent of long standing.

I'm sure that I, and other fans are taking this too seriously, but it would be a shame if the makers gave such an uneccessary complication for people to complain about. Frankly the film has had more advance critcism than any I can remember.

(On that topic by the way, wasn't setting the trailer's "gunbarrel" sequence in a toilet rather a gift to the detractors :wink: )

The way I think it will pan out, is;

First 45mins-60 will be bond (in dodgy makeup) being recruited and trained...then when they actually pick up the royale story it will be later on (with m) and bond will already be an agent.

Casino Royale Teaser Trailer (in French)

Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell is to record the theme tune to new Bond film Casino Royale. The US rocker's song will be titled You Know My Name. Cornell was previously the singer with Seattle grunge band Soundgarden.

"His music is both soulful and tough. It was the perfect complement to Daniel Craig and Casino Royale," a film spokeswoman said. He will be the first man to sing the Bond theme since since A-Ha recorded The Living Daylights in 1987.

Last I heard, Chris Cornell hadn't been officially announced (has he been now?) but David Arnold gave basically a "No comment" when he usually denies, so it does seem likely.

All the speculation about a singer should perhas bear in mind that every Bond film from The Living Daylights on has actually had 2 different theme songs, one at the beginning and one at the end, except for Die Another Day, and The World Is Not Enough (which did have a Scott Walker song that was droped).

So its very possible that there will be 2 songs, and they havent decided which will be the Main Theme yet. This was especially noticeable on Tomorrow Never Dies, where the score was based on (what became) KD Lang's End Theme, when Sheryl Crow's was picked instead (to David Arnold's displeasure I believe).

I think its an interesting choice. I suspect this will be the theme, but I think there is still a chance it will be at the end instead.

There had been a lot of speculation as to whether they could get a song with the title Casino Royale. Didn't seen promising, but, from a marketing point of view, I thought they might try.

Anyone else remember the tag line on the very first Brosnan posters, the teaser for Goldeneye?
