The score should read:

Underworld Evolution 4/10
Beckinsale partial nudity 8/10
Total score: 6/10 (ok, so you were close )

The Inside Man (2006):

First of all, not much to say without giving away too much storyline, as it really is very simple. The beauty lies in the acting and twists and turns it takes along the way. It has a refreshing ending and portrays "good guys" more honestly than most Hollywood movies. Wife fell asleep, but then again, she usually does ;)

Much like Usual Suspects, it's worth a watch, but very hard to watch a second time. Give it a go, I'm sure you won't regret it (but maybe go rent it, as buying it seems silly, unless your a manic collector, like i am).

This is on my rental list

I haven’t watched any films for what seems like ages, the last 2 I saw were at the cinema; POTC 2 and Superman Returns, just been watching Las Vegas seasons 1 and 2 and re-watching Smallville in time for season 5’s release. 8)

Storm Breaker. Very dissapointed in this - I wasn't expecting anything wonderful, but I thought this very poor indeed.

Perhaps the problem is that other childrens books which have carried over to the mainstream fill a void in the adult market - Harry Potter for example. The Alex Rider books are just James Bond lite. And while there is obviosly a marked for this in books, as most spy stories would be unsuitable for, and of little interest to, kids, the Bond FILMS and their like work just fine for them, so there is really no reason for this as a film except as a boy's wish-fulfilment fantasy; and even as a boy, I would far rather have seen myself as James Bond, or, at the other extreme, as a realistic child character, than this wishy-washy middle ground.

It offers very little interest or humour on any other level. It manages to be very short and very busy, yet extremly dull, and wastes a decent cast - I didn't even find Bill Nighy interesting. It seems to copy the most vacuous elements of the Bond films without adding any real depth to its premise of a boy caught in this world.

On last nights showing there won't be a sequel. The Cinema as a whole was literally the busiest I have EVER seen it (the staff agreed), 15 minute queues, but I doubt if this had close to 50 people in a 400 seat hall. Thats terrible for an opening week for a film with such a big budget.

I generally don't like the main star of a film to be less than 20

I agree. There are a few notable exceptions, but not in the action genre.

They really needed a young Sean Connery and they got a young Roger Moore instead! I feel like a school bully criticising him, but he doesn't so much act as pose - not that he was given much to work with. I didn't see it but heard he was excellent in a TV Tom Brown's Schooldays, but he seems better suited to that - frightfully upper-class. And like Roger Moore (although inevitable and understandable in this case) he suffers from a severe case of "over-used stunt double".

It really is COMPLETE tosh. A cynical, witless, needless movie.

Even the few kids leaving the cinema looked bored and glum. Its little more than half the length of POTC or Superman but feels longer than either.
