Batman Begins - even better second time around

Appalling TV movie Dressed To Kill with Michael Caine and Angie Dickinson. At first I was quite forgiving, seeing as it was made in the 70's and it was a completely different era (everyone on drugs  ). But then I thought about The Godfather and other fanatabulous films from that period and couldn't believe how the people who made this piece of poo got away with it. Shame on your Michael Caine!!!

Tim Burton's Corpse Bride - not as good as The Nightmare Before Christmas (funnier, but the songs, for the most part, aren't as good), but still very enjoyable, and it's really not often you get to see a fairytale type of film - makes a wonderful change from all of the remakes and sequels.

I am left puzzling, though, why the worm looked and sounded like Peter Lorre :?

Nanny Mcphee

Actually, surprisingly good. Better than I expected.

Got a bit cheesy in places, but overall not bad.

Saw Serenity yesterday afternoon (seriously Herb, what do they pay you for?....) and really enjoyed it. Very entertaining, great story and nice witty one-liners. Only thing that spoiled it (like Tracy's experience), was the irritating constant back-chat from the group of 14-15 year olds sitting behind me and my brother. God they would not shut up. Now I've hung out with blokey mates for most of my life and totally appreciate how funny they can be, but I started going a little wacko after the 16th comment of "....it's Morpheus...." everytime Chewybaccy Eatalotofsweeties appeared on screen. Seriously guys, I had to calm my brother down and even then I was ready to turn round and tell them to shut the hell up. Bloody inconsiderate sods! I wish one member of cinema staff would sit in on each film and monitor the audience noise levels. Then they could chuck people out if they won't shut up.

Anyway, straight after that my sister arrived with the yubbies (Jerry 4, Meli 2 - both completely naughty), so me and my brother were sufficiently amused by them for the entire showing of Wallace and Gromit. It is really fantastic and like many of you I will need a repeat viewing in order to digest all the in-jokes. I had a lovely time watching all the kids laughing in spite of the slight hint of wee-wee smell and odd poo stench emanating from a cherub 6 chairs away.....

Almost forgot. The oaf picked up a copy of Luc Besson's Wasabi with Jean Reno, in HMV at the weekend and we watched it before bed last night (well I went to bed, he stayed up till 4am watching baseball - mad cowpat). Even though I fell asleep near the end (I was tired from playing with the yubbies), the bulk of the film was very good. The script in particular was wonderfully written; maybe it's something to do with the style of French movies. Regardless, I'd recommend a looksie to all of you peeps

Watched Ed Gein last night! Had never heard of it before - caught the CH4 advert, but it was very cool! Supposidly the film which inspired Silence of the Lambs and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Any one else see it?

Just seen Evil, a Swedish film I was sent to review. Been putting it off for a while as it sounded pretty heavy going, based on a true story.Thoroughly enjoyed it; one of the best films I've seen this year!!!
