Hancock

Loved the first half of the film, then it goes a bit daft with a following explanation and finishes quite well. Will a sequel be any good though?

7/10

Wanted

A bit formulaic but I loved this film. Great set pieces, special effects, some good acting too. Will look fantastic in HD. AJ needs to put some weight on though she looks a bit gaunt.

Son of Rambow

Nice little film thats quite amusing for the first half before it loses it's way slightly and then getting back on track towards the end.

Anyone who went to comprehensive school in the mid 80's will love the soundtrack and some of the dialogue on this.

Skill.

!st time replying on the new site - woo!
Looking good by the way :)

Anyhow, seen a few things lately.

My poor husband drew the short straw and got to bring the kids to Wall-E which they all loved while I went into the other screen to see The Dark Knight (hehehe)

Really impressed by The Dark Knight, some fantastic scenes although the logical part of me kicked in the next day and started getting a little puzzled as to some parts of the script that just didnt properly explain themsleves - but I'm sure with a a future watch - I'll switch the logical part back off!! But its far surpassed Jack Nicholsons Joker for me which says alot!!

Sex and The City - was quite dissapointed with this, it felt like the characters were much weaker than the TV shiw - especially Carrie and Samantha, 2nd half picked up a bit, but 1st half just seemed like a massive plug for vogue, Viviene Westwood etc.... not to impressed and dont know if I'll be rushing to see the planned sequel.

Apart from that on dvd saw:

Ronin - finally got round to watching this after years of it sitting on the shelf sealed and ignored! (am slowly when time allows it making way through Jean Reno's back catalogue!) was pretty good but think it needs another watch to get all the finer twists firmly down but brilliant for the various locations and the car chase - excellent stuff.

The Mummy : Tomb of the Dragon - Kind of didn't seem to fit in with the other two films, Maria Bello was pretty rubbish playing Rachel Weisz's old role too. Ok to waste a bit of time, but not worth a second watch really.
Don't Mess With the Zohan - Really enjoyed the majority of the film, quite entertaining 'Silky Smooth' ;) but the end was pretty poo, and just seemed a little like the had to end the film there so let's end it quick, but if you like Adam Sandler I think you'll like this.
Get Smart - A little boring and few laughs, although the general story and plot held up better than I thought it would.
Mamma Mia - Really enjoyed it, cheesey, cheesey, cheese, but I loved it, bad singing in parts and a little over the top, but good old fashioned fun!
Funny Games - Warped teens with too much time on their hands, makes up for a pretty f***ed up film, but was quirky and interesting enough to keep my eyes on throughout, although some strange and quite odd moments were thrown in inexplicably, there's a bit with a remote control, which just threw me completely.
Awake - Thought it would be crap and had a totally different idea of the film in my head, was actually a pretty good watch. Hayden Christensen was annoying as normal, but Jessica Alba surprised me towards the end, as a nice couple of twists were added, although you could kind of see a few coming.
The Strangers - Great suspenseful film, kept me on the edge of my seat, loads of people in the cinema gasping with a few odd screams. One of best thrillers/scary films i've seen in a long while.
Stepbrothers - I'm not the greatest Will Ferrell fan, but this was really funny and entertaining, much better than anything i've seen him in for a long while, and some real laugh out moments. A definite must see, I liked it so much I might go and watch it again.

Cheers Tracey. I'm looking forward to seeing The Strangers as I enjoyed Them (aka Ils) and it's supposed to be quite similar in parts.

The Strangers

Was ok. Bit obvious at times, good at times. Based on a true story where they don't really know all of what happened so I guess a lot was made up. Not bad as a suspense film more than a horror film. Apparently a sequel is in the offing.

6/10

Infection

A Tartan Asian Extreme film I've wanted to see for a long time as was ultimately disappointed with it. Drags on initially before it gets going and not very convincingly at that. Then it all goes a bit weirdy without a satisfying conclusion. Bit of a let down.

Me too Homer, haven't been to the cinema to watch a scary flick in ages.
