Re: Just watched film thread
Blood Diamond.....What a film, has to be one of the best I've watched this year, I've read a couple of books about the child soldiers in Africa and some stuff about Sierra Leone so was pretty interested to see how this would be done and it was an absolutely fantastic film, brilliant performances by all - even Leonardo Di Caprio who I wouldnt have made 1st choice to play the diamond smuggler played a blinder!
Excellent film, well worth getting.
Apart from that Hot Fuzz which while it had its moments, kinda lost me towards the end and wasnt nearly as fast paced as I'd have liked, not bad but not great.

Evan Almighty.
Actually, quite enjoyable! I thought I would hate it, but it was quite a funny film. Absolute nonsense, but still enjoyable.
7/10.

Re: Just watched film thread
saw Transformers ...excellent, loads of happy looking dads and their sons at the end (My other half and eldest boy included) very good effects and story rattled along at a great pace, definitly one to see on the big screen and best blockbuster of the year without a doubt (so far!)

Re: Just watched film thread
This is England: Very Funny coz the main character reminded me of a guy from school + some muppet tried to have a dump on the corner shop floor
Die Hard 4: OTT at it's best, can't wait for Die Hard 5
Mars Attacks: Puts independence day to shame every time
All top films in my book

Re: Just watched film thread
Flushed Away - [4/10] - Fell asleep it was that boring
The Marine - [5/10] - Cheese, yes. Great, no
Wild Hogs - [5/10] - Cheese, yes. Funny, hell no
TMNT - [7/10] - Surpised that I slightly enjoyed this
Ultraviolet - [6/10] - Not as bad as I had been told
Live Free or Die Hard - [8/10] - Best of the these films but still prefer 3 (and of course 1) over this.

Re: Just watched film thread
Recently watched Transformers and Goal.
Transformers - much better than I ever expected it to be and really enjoyed it (as did the wife). Some great CGI a decent story with humour in there too. 8.5/10
Goal - some dodgy accents aside this was a pretty decent football film for a change. 7/10

Re: Just watched film thread
Just back from The Simpsons...
Having read a few lukewarm reviews, I wasnt expecting too much of this but am pretty fond of The Simpsons anyway... I have to say, I really enjoyed it, long time since I've heard the kids laugh out loud so much (take note, the makers of Shrek 3 ) and it flew in, just a shame there wasnt so much of a role for the likes of Mr Burns and Moe etc, but overall enjoyed this alot.

Re: Just watched film thread
Watched over the last week or so.
A Bronx Tale [9/10]
Watch this every few years, as good as goodfellas IMO.
A River Runs Through it [7/10]
Expected it to be boring, it wasn't.
Aliens 3 [5/10]
too dark and too depressing for me, OH rated it.
Alien Resurrection [7/10]
enjoyed it alot more than 3, hated the hybrid thingy.
Air America [6/10]
Enjoyable but could have been better, fantastic s/track though.
Beautiful Girls [8/10]
Totally underrated little gem, What a cast ! another cracking s/track.

Goal 2 - pretty decent follow up to Goal albeit very predictable. 7/10
