Re: Just watched film thread
Finally got around to watching The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning,a bit disappointing preferred the remake of the original
seeing it was meant to answer the question about the mad family i found it didn't really answer any, pointless film!

Wild Hogs.
Wasn't brilliant, however it was better than the critics had prepared me for. Most critics gave it 2 out of 5, I would probably give it a 3.
It's got some very funny moments, so see it for some mindless fun, but don't expect a great story.

Just saw this today..totally agree with Wilko. The film has been slated but it has goty it's funny moments, worth a watch. But everytime Tim Allen said Woody, just makes me think of Toy Story

I think the Woody gags were intentional. There was at least one of the quotes did actually come from Toy Story. Or so the wife reckons.

Idiocracy
Pretty crap...I was hoping for a lot...office space is a modern comedy classic and beavis and butthead was genius. Luke Wilson is terribly the worst 'wilson' and the whole concept was just unfunny.
Club Dread
Crap, yeah...but it's broken lizard...fun

Re: Just watched film thread
Just seen Shooter.
Mark Wahlberg is good value for money as always. Enjoyed this although a little over long i thought, but on the other hand the OH thought it was just nicely unhurried. Lots of shooting things (obviously!) & blowing up things big style if that floats your boat.
Not oscar material but a good solid film.

Re: Just watched film thread
The Lives of Others - Excellent drama abot the Stasi in the 1980s. I have to agree with Blunty, I think this deserved its Best Foreign Language Oscar.
Half Nelson - drama about the friendship between a drug adicted teacher and one of his students, a 13 year old girl. I liked this a lot as well and think Ryan Gosling could easily have won the Best Actor Oscar. This one is very much a matter of taste though - my OH didn't like it at all and there were even a couple of walkouts. Quite slow, very gritty, real feeling, hand-held cameras etc, and it avoids all the usual cliches.
