Immortal on dvd.

A bit of a weird sci-fi film.

I actually enjoyed T3 - of course 1+2 were far better, but that doesn't mean t3 is bad.

I hope they make a T4. They left it open at the end of T3 for another sequel.
I was wondering why a sentient being (skynet) would want to initiate something that's going to generate a huge amount of EMPs and basically wipe out its living quarters? There must be a smarter way to get rid of humans

I think the problem with T3, was it was made much more a family film, compare that to the other 2 and it doesn't stand up.

Pretty in Pink 8)

A fav of mine and about the 20th time I have watched it. Hubbie is on night shift so I can watch all my cheesy 80 movies although he didn't want me to watch footloose last night as he wants to see it.

Also I just read on imdb that in the SE just released they have included the original ending with Andie ending up with Duckie. :? Does anyone have the SE?

Think the very fact that James Cameron wasn't involved immediately made it worse...it tried it's hardest but it was just very poor.

I disliked, too, that , like the third Aliens film, it rendered the second films plot pointless, or at leased reduced their significance enormously. I think thats the worst offence that a sequel can commit - to lessen preceeding films.

At the cinema - Stay Alive. A teen video game themed horror-lite.

I'm not a horror fan - frankly tired of the number of them in the last year or two. But this wasn't too bad. Not great by any means but a watchable, and short, evenings worth maybe especially for gamers (not that its realistic, but there are lots of references). Apparently this was made as an R certificate in the US but was heavily cut to get a PG-13, but gore has become really tiresom to me and I thought its abscence probably actually helped. Had it actually been filmed with that intent, it might have been able to rack up the creep factor, which is what horror needs more of, for me, rather than gore.

The odd thing is, despite this oppening to poor reviews, and poor business, in the States, my local has been sold out for every single evening show since Friday - even the usually quiet Monday. I can only think that, with the blockbusters taking up so many screens, audiences are starved for new releases and find Angel-a and Renaisance (both much better) too left field.

The Break-up has also been consistantly sold out, and is stupidly getting a single evning showing at 8pm, instead of a 7.00 and a 9.30. The managers say the studios prefer their films to start at 8 - "the most poular time" - but if its always sold out, I can't see how two evening showings wouldn't sell more tickets. And, anecdotally, I think a lot of people also like slightly later showings, but they are all for older film (which many will have seen). The last showing of many of the films are coming out when its still light, but they are showing to empty halls at 11am. When I asked about this I was told that its "because the French like to go to the cinema in the morning, and we want to encourage that here"!!! :?

(end of OT rant)

Yeah...the worst thing about alien 3 was like you said, the fact that everything that was great about the 2nd was just written out!

But I did enjoy it...never seen charles dance in anything better and fincher has talent

Failure to Launch – as rom coms go, this one was actually quite enjoyable and funny, it even made my other half laugh. SJP and Matthew McC had good chemistry and for the first time in ages I even actual watched the special features which were also quite good.
