Hm, same old same old. Maya has stolen her ability from Sean's brother in 'the 4400'. Same blood pouring from the eyes and other orifices, probably a similar effect too...though obviously not promicin infections this time
The 'new' super baddy looks to be pretty harmless really, though giving little kids really bad nightmares clearly marks him as a 'really bad person'.
The Company has switched from a super secret government type organisation to a private group. So hopefully they wont be referring to the Heroes as Terrorists all the time.
The telepathic cop is still short of a few brain cells thinking he can take out the new super villain. Didn't four bullets in the chest teach him anything ?
Several unwanted characters have been conveniently removed, the cops wife and expected child, the wife in the wheel chair and associated children, etc. Though you just know that at some point we will get an episode or three that explains or digs up what happened in the missing four months.
The worst part, so far, is the introduction of one of the standard requirements of American Sci-fi ...... an annoying brat. In this case, it's Molly and no doubt Nikki's bra...er son will put in an appearance soon too (and her bra might just sneak in to keep the male viewers happy

).
The way George Takei's character was killed has to be one of the lamest 'conceal the identity of the killer' sequences I've ever seen. Presumably, the killer will be 'a big surprise' and turn out to be one of the good guys.
Oh yes, and the nonsense about Claire and family keeping a low profile. So day one at her new college and the daughter of a worker at a photocopying agency gets given a brand new car ! Presumably supplied by one of the programme sponsors. I suppose it will be interesting to see how they deal with the flying peeping tom.
At least Hiro's storyline looks like it will be interesting. Clearly, he will again be providing the light relief from the rest of the action. So there was one redeeming feature in this first episode
