I can understand using them in a general thread and they're an excellent addition but the title clearly says 'Spoiler thread' so don't see the need to use them in such forums. Unless everyone disagrees of course.

Without wishing to annoy you unduly, if you went to such a lot of trouble to put this method in place don't you think it would have been a good idea to mention them to the forum members somewhere fairly prominent rather than just announcing them in the middle of a Spoiler thread ? This is the first time I've heard them mentioned or seen a reference to their use.

Oh, so that's what those things are. I've been wondering what their purpose was. Now all I need to do is find where the emoticon menu has disappeared to as it has disappeared since the change to the new forums.

As has already been mentioned, this thread has SPOILER in the title which should tell people not to look in here if they don't want to find out what's happening in the series. I always avoid such threads for shows I have yet to watch. I wouldn't have posted my discussion of events in the first episode if this hadn't been the case. Hiding them under a tag will just make TV series and Film threads unreadable with half the posts invisible, most of them partially hidden and just a few with the full text available.

OK, calm down!

It was mentioned, quite prominently, when we announced the new features of the site. It's not my fault you didn't read it.

At the end of the day, we had a great long thread about things people wanted, and a further huge list of "would likes" that people have been asking for over the last few years. We tried to respond to as many of these requests as possible.

All I'm saying is, we add new features to the site because people ask for them - and then they don't use them. We have spent a lot of money and effort making this site as useable and attractive as possible, and it just annoys me that much of this effort appears to have been wasted.

For the record, I did read the first page of the 'Welcome to the all new HDandDVDBargains!' when it first went up...and Spoiler Tags weren't mentioned at all. I didn't return to the thread as it looked like it was just going to be full of comments on what people thought of the site:

Welcome to the all new HDandDVDBargains!

I would have expected the Spoiler Tag info to appear in the opening post explaining the new features. I've now looked beyond page 1, but I still think that posting a question about whether anyone had noticed the new feature at the top of the second page isn't my idea of mentioning it quite prominently

I imagine that further in I will find out where the smilies menu went as well I only know the character strings for two or three, so it would be useful to find out what else I've missed.

I don't think I used the extra functionality of the original site and didn't request any additions as I was perfectly happy with what was available. So I'm afraid your efforts in that respect have been wasted where I'm concerned. Sorry about that.

Oh, I do like the improved Price Comparison feature but then I quite liked the old one too

You can't do right for doing wrong.

Personally I'd make it a rule to use the spoiler tags or any spoilers get deleted - that way you can read the thread and what spoilers "you" want to read. Its annoying to have to avoid the thread if you're a bit behind in episodes. Doing it this way you can still read the spoilers upto the episode you've just watched.

Discussion (i.e what might happen - loss of characters etc) can still take place when the spoiler tags are used.

Zzzzzzzzzz

Thus far it's not up to Season One's standards and is starting to bore me with most plot lines being telegraphed. I hope it kicks in to gear soon otherwise they should finish it at the end of this season.

I thought this was the best ep this season. The mexicans finally become interesting, we find out who the big bad is. New girl with new power is introduced. I'm starting to get bored for claire and flyboy and I hope that the mini Mr T in the micah story gets written out soon, WAKE UP FOOL!

It does seem a little disjointed, I suspect it's one of those shows that may come accross better on DVD when you can watch it in chunks and see past the some of the filler. Saying that I'm still enjoying it more than a lot of TV that I can think of

Finally it gets going, Episode 5 was quality from start to finish with loads happening. Rekindled my enthusiasm for the programme.
