Commando has always been cut to ribbons on DVD here, the studio in their wisdom edited it - I think if memory serves the UK reg 2 dvd is the only cut version, the other Reg 2's are uncut as well as the Reg 1 obviously, theyre not major cuts, its the odd second here and there, I think the total cuts add up to something like 15 seconds, the 'neck snap' on the plane, the throat cutting of the guards, the electrocution scene at the end etc. If youve never seen the film you will not notice em but if you have the video version you will.

Bizzarre as it is, when the film is shown on UK tv its always shown uncut, but the studio made the mad decission to cut the dvd releases in the UK when the BBFC passed the film 'uncut'

Even more bizzarre the film was recently re submitted to the BBFC uncut which it obviously passed, I assumed for the 'ultimate edition' steelbook release which never came, so I dont know why the Blu Ray disk is based on the 'cut' version and not the uncut one. Your best bet is a non UK Reg 2 or even better the Reg 1 :)

I remember checking the BBFC website when I bought the R1 DVD, to see why the garden shed scene had been edited in the UK VHS version to remove the guy having his arm lopped off. Not sure if the text is still there, but IIRC they claimed it was cut because the guy had his arm lopped off but he wasn't killed - he was mutilated.

So, if Arnie had killed him horribly, no problem, but just wounding the guy was out. Bit weird!
