I took the plunge and have just splashed out £1500 on a Pioneer PDP-428XD plasma. After reading about a dozen reviews, it is regarded as having the best picture ever seen on a flat panel TV.

So, what do you guys think? Is it a good buy?

Great tv, no doubt about it. When the only bad points are the price and the lack of a stand you're laughing ...if you can afford it of course. I take it the site's doing well

Wilko you are a bad influence, we just bought a Panasonic 1080p 42'' Plasma today for £950. Is £899 on curry's website but we bought it from a local panasonic dealer and it includes 5 years Panasonic warranty so very happy. Seems a good tv from the reviews, does anyone else have one?

We weren't meant to be buying a new hi-def telly until the summer but my little bro is buying our 40'' rear projection for £250 so we couldn't wait any longer.

Should have it set up later tonight only thing is now we have no HD/PS3 yet.
