HD DVD

With the impending arrival of HD-DVD.. how long before we see an HD-DVD subforum?
I so want to get HD-DVDs..but I have to keep telling myself that its not worth the cost of the player at the moment, the risk of region lock.. etc etc

Anybody else tempted to purchase?

Nope.

I think when prices of players drop and store like WHSmith and Woolies start to stock the discs in small numbers is when my investment in a HD or Blu Ray standalone player will be made - and only then if there are multiregion players about.

Thnkyou Silent Bob.
Obviously that's just my view on the subject, if someone is desperate to get one, go for it, but to me the whole launch of this new technology seems a mess.

Good read.
The PS3 will be over £400, and they take a hit on the hardware cost so as to claw it back via profit when selling games.

Also, they have already designed and patented drives that take both blu-ray and hd-dvd.

I agree totally about all the downsides tho. Just wish I was rich enough to not worry about it

I'm not interested until the prices of players are better and one (or both) formats are popular
