Me too, even though the packaging appeals to me. Given how long this has been cheap there can't be that many people who are really bothered about this movie who don't already own it, so why not put the Blu-Ray in the special packaging? It's exclusive content and packaging on Blu-Ray that's going to encourage people to buy BD instead of DVD, so it's totally beyond me why the studios, after all of the problems of the 'format war' are finally over, aren't making BD more attractive to consumers

Its because they are going to do EXACTLY what they did with DVD and rip our eyes out.

They'll release a one disc vanilla version. Then a two disk "special edition". Then a 2 disk "collectors edition". Then a 3 disk "Ultimate edition". Then a 1 disk "Collectors Steelbook". Then a 2 disk "Ultimate Steelbook Edition". Then a 10 disk "Ultimate Collectors Edition in Coffin Shaped Packaging".

Its disgraceful that they can get away with it so blatantly.

It certainly is, although it's partly our own fault for falling for it and buying them - if we didn't buy all the special editions they'd stop doing it. But still, though, they are preying on the obsessive nature of collectors in a deeply cynical manner
