I don't usually bother with non-anime/manga bargains, but I thought I'd post this since it's a very good deal and no-one else seems to have reported it.
I can't speak for this particular release, but I have to agree with Stinger; as far as I know most/all of the Definitive releases were changed to Amarays with a slipcase. They weren't officially re-released, the catalog numbers weren't changed, they just quietly changed the packaging.
This has happened before - when Warner switched from snapper cases to Amarays, they just phased them in with new stock; there was no indication which you were buying. As far as I can tell, thats what happened with the Definitives. It was really a bit underhand, as the change from Steelbook is rather more drastic, and they know must some people were buying for the packaging alone. I'm sure many were caught out. With no new stock number, many retailers haven't changed their listings.
There probably is still some old stock of Steelbooks of some titles with some retailers, I just don't think you can count on it - the change was some time ago now.
As far as I can see, there's only one Definitive Edition release, and all of those releases are steelbooks as far as I know.
And, as for it being OOP, Play still have it in-stock for £5.99.
theres been 2 unfortunetly. as explained above. there was talk of a lot more films being released as steelbooks too but they seem to have disappeared off the radar now. its quite rare to find a steelbook version of the DE releases instore or online unless you look on ebay where they sell for more.
My copy arrived the other day. As expected, it isn't the steelbook edition; it's in a standard DVD case with a slipcover. I don't mind since I only paid £3.80 and it's the best UK DVD release we'll see.
By the way, I watched the film last night and can't say I noticed anything wrong with gunshots or music cues. Unless the sound effect issues were fixed, I think people with those issues are a bit too picky.
